What Makes a CPO Vehicle Certified?
Eligibility Requirements
Not just any Mercedes vehicle will qualify to be Certified Pre-Owned. To even be considered, Mercedes must ensure that it meets following requirements:
- Be less than 6 years old
- Have less than 75,000 miles
- Be serviced according to schedule
- Include a CARFAX® Vehicle History Report
It Passes a 165+ Point Inspection
The vehicle inspection starts with the exterior, making sure the structure and appearance are up to our gold standards. It continues with a full interior review looking at the finishes, flooring, seat belts, and that is just the beginning.
Our Mercedes Benz certified technicians check the electrical systems, engine, fluids, filters and transmission. We ensure that the tires are Mercedes-Benz approved, and all recall campaigns and standard services are performed before it hits our showroom.
Road Tested
Our Mercedes Benz dealer technicians evaluate the performance of the steering, brakes, suspension, drive shaft and overall ride quality. Even the noise and vibration levels are monitored to make sure that the experience behind the wheel is smooth, quiet and exactly what you'd expect when you get in your Mercedes.
The Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty
Every Certified Pre-Owned Mercedes-Benz is backed by the remaining 4-year/50,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Once that expires, the Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty goes into effect, providing an additional 12-months of coverage with unlimited miles. After that, a CPO Extended Limited Warranty is available for one or two years, also with unlimited miles, so you can buy and drive with total confidence.
The CPO Limited Warranty: What's Covered?
Under the Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty Mercedes-Benz of Tampa will make the necessary repairs or replacements to correct defects in material or workmanship. Components that are covered include, but are not limited to:
- Engine Components
- Powertrain Components
- Suspension
- Brakes (excluding normal wear of discs and pads)
- Steering
- Electrical Systems
- Climate Control
- Audio and Navigation Systems
- Central Locking
- Convertible/Retractable Top Systems

The CPO Extended Limited Warranty
The CPO Extended Limited Warranty offers up to 2 additional years (unlimited miles) once your CPO Limited Warranty expires, providing the same comprehensive coverage.
7 Days to Exchange
To make sure you're completely satisfied with your Mercedes-Benz, you can exchange it for another model within the first seven days or 500 miles, whichever comes first
24/7 Personal Assistance
As part of your warranty coverage, you'll also enjoy complimentary Roadside Assistance. A simple phone call summons help if you need a jump-start, tire change, or if you run out of fuel.
Trip Interruption
If you've broken down more than 100 miles from home, there's no need to worry. Mercedes-Benz will reimburse your travel expenses, up to $300 per day for three days.
